A
day-long Inter-College Skills-in-Teaching Competition was today held at Khalsa
College of Education (KCE) here in which the Khalsa College of Education
(Ranjit Avenue) and DAV College of Education jointly bagged the overall trophy.
More than 26 teams from more than twelve colleges hailing from Jalandhar, Nawan
Shahar and adjoining areas of Amritsar participated in the competition.

Hundal, Dean, College Development Council, GNDU, who as chief guest at the
prize distribution function stated that the world is witnessing a change and
thus the teaching skills are also in for change. ``In the modern world which is
turning a global village, the information technology is bridging the gaps and
teaching has perhaps been affected the most’’, said he as he was welcomed by
host KCE Principal, Dr.Jaswinder Singh Dhillon.
In
the Social Science Stream, the host KCE bagged the first position along with
KCE (Ranjit Avenue) while Second position went to MGN College of Education,
Jalandhar. In the languages stream, Sidana Institute of Education and KCE
received the First position while Anand College of Education and KCE (Ranjit
Avenue) got Second position. The Third positon was held by DAV and MGN
together.
In
the Science Stream, DAV and KCE got the First position while MGN got the Second
and KCE (Ranjit Avenue got the Third position and the consolotaion prize went
to ML Memorial Institute of Education, Mudhal, Amritsar. Dr.Dhillon said that
the competition was aimed to apprise the teachers about the latest teaching
methods in the teaching and he was happy over the tremendous response and the
good work carried by the participants. Others present included Dr.Nirmaljit Kaur,
Prof.Deepika Kohli, Prof. Maninder Kaur and others.
