CHANDIGARH, MARCH 13
The Punjab Government has decided to conduct a massive
drive to review the progress and educational advancement in the government
schools of the state. Keeping this in mind, parent-teachers’ meetings have been
fixed in the government schools across the state on March 28, 2013, except
block Sri Anandpur Sahib in District Ropar.
Disclosing this here today, Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka,
Education Minister Punjab said that this exercise is being done to make a
agreeable atmosphere for study in the schools and also to bridge the gap
between students and teachers, besides apprising the parents about the
performance of their wards. He said that the motive behind this initiative to
elevate the standard of school education. He further said that during the
parent-teachers’ meeting DPI Secondary and DPI Elementary and officers from the
O/o DGSE would visit the schools to ensure that the parent-teacher meetings are
being conducted in the true-spirit.
Education Minister also said that block Sri Anandpur
Sahib in district Ropar has been excluded from this drive due to the
Hola-Mohalla celebrations at Sri Anandpur Sahib, where parent-teacher meetings
would be held on March 30, 2013.
