Govt releases first instalment for hand tool cluster Jalandhar

The Hand Tool Industry in Jalandhar is all set to get new look with Government releasing first instalment of RS. 17.48 crore.
Disclosing this here today Industry and Commerce Minister of Punjab Mr Anil Joshi said that the Punjab government had approved to set up the Hand Tool Cluster in Jalandhar with the cost of Rs 79.49 crore. He said that this project had been delayed .The Minister said that  he has held series of meetings with the Union Government officials and stressed the need of it as Jalandhar has known for its hand tool industry worldwide, that needed to be further expanded. He said that out of the total Rs 79.49 crore, Union Government has released the first instalment of Rs 17.48 crore to the SPV.
He said that Punjab Government has committed to revive the glory of Hand Tool Industry in state as it was providing employment on the large scale by exporting items around the world. He said that earlier Punjab Government had sanctioned to set up a Machine Tools Cluster at Batala with the cost of Rs 83 crore with an aim to develop the small and medium scale industry in border areas. New Hand Tool Cluster would be equipped with the modern technology and latest machinery besides providing all the basic facilities required for Hand Tool Industry in the Cluster, he added.
He said that these projects would prove to be a boon for the small scale industry in state which would create employment opportunities for thousands of youths.
