Assam students call on Patil under National Interagation programme

CHANDIGARH, SEPT 18
 National Integration Tour comprising of 12 students of Nalbari, district Assam today called on Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil under National Integrated Tour conducted by Indian Army.
        While interacting with the students, Mr. Patil said that the National Integration Tour conducted by Army is aimed at helping the people to help themselves. He said such educational tours to other parts of the country would help in improving coordination with appropriate civil authorites at all levels.
        Appreciating the intiative of Indain Army to start National Integration Tour Programme, Mr. Patil said that through this concept the young minds are being ignited with the motivation of patriotism and progress of the motherland.
        Mr. Patil asked Assamee students whether they want to join Army? All students raised their hands showing willingness to join Indian Army.   He again asked what difference they have seen in Assam and Punjab. One student replied that Punjab was fully developed State
particularly in Agriculture Sector.
Sharing their views the students said that the tour was a wonderful experience for them, as they were having a memorable time visiting places of historical and academic interests.
        Students team, led by one officer, one JCO and two NCOs of Army will visit Amritsar and Shimla also.
        Major Kiran said that this National Integraton tour was organized by 12 Mahar Regt.  under operation Sadbhavana fot the year 2012-2013.
        Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Mr.
M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor and Major Vivek Anand, ADC
to Governor.
