Union Home Minister Mr Sushil Kumar Shinde has ordered an inquiry and
audit in to the border area grant scam, which will be conducted by the
union home secretary in a time bound period. This was directed yesterday
after S Partap Singh Bajwa, MP, Gurdaspur handed over the memorandum to
the union home minister alongwith congress delegation comprising of
Sukhjinder Randhawa, S S Sukhsarkaria both MLA”s and Harpartap S Ajnala
senior congress leader. Mr Bajwa also shot a letter to the union home
minister demanding a CBI probe in the matter of BADP funds being misused
in the ministers own constituency.
Bajwa
said Although a vigilance probe is on in the matter and the minister
concerned has also resigned but still there is need to give the
investigation to an independent agency like CBI so that the truth comes
before and the culprits are punished. The union government should also
stop the further grants being given to the Punjab government till the
probe is on and order the audit of all the central sponsored schemes
being run in the last five years in the state of Punjab.
