Primary schools closes tiill January 6 in Punjab

CHANDIGARH, JAN 3
          The Education department Punjab has declared the winter vacations for the students and staff in all government primary, Private recognized  and aided schools in the state up to Jan 6, 2013.
          Disclosing this here today Punjab Education Minister Mr. Sikandar Singh Maluka said that school timings for class 6th to onward have also been changed and now school will open at 10 AM instead of 9AM till further orders.
          Minister Further said that vacations could be extended if cold wave continues. For double shifts, the original schedule for the morning session from 7.00 A.M to 12.30 has been changed to 8.00 A.M. to 12.30 and in the evening shift time will be 12.30 to 4.15 P.M.
CLAIMS INVITED BY THE CLAIM COMMISSION TO COMPENSATE THE DAMAGE
The claim commission constituted by the Punjab Government has invited the claims to compensate the damage caused by the violent mob in the aftermath of Vienna incident, in which Saint Ramanand of Dera SachKhand Ballan, was assassinated in the capital of Austria. 
            Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of state government said that the affected persons belonging to district; Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Sri Muktsar Sahib and SBS Nagar, could submit their claims via Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts or directly to the Claim Commission, Home Affairs and Justice Department. He said that the claims must be supported by the required documents and proofs.
UMA GETS PROMOTION AS DY. DIRECTOR PR
The Punjab Government has promoted Information & Public Relations Officer Ms. Uma Sharma as Deputy Director, Information & Public Relations.
Informing this here today a spokesperson of the department said that she had joined her new assignment after receiving the promotion orders.
It may be recalled here that Ms. Uma had been elevated as IPRO from APRO in 1997, said the spokesperson.
