Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) today appointed Prof.
Baljinder Singh as Principal of Khalsa College Chawinda Devi (KCCD). Having an experience
of over 38 years in teaching, Prof. Baljinder was currently working as
Registrar, Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA). He took the charge of office from
outgoing founder-Principal Dr.PS Dua, in presence of KCGC honourary secretary Mr.
Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina and other office-bearers.
Mr.Chhina said Dr.Dua had been unwell and they had the tough
task to choose new Principal and Prof.Baljinder was fit person to head this new
institution, which is providing much needed higher education to people from
rural area. He hoped that having vast academic and administration experience,
Prof. Baljinder Singh will work tirelessly to help institution progress and
achieve its objective to provide value-based education to students.
Prof.Baljinder Singh keeps a close eye on the political and
social developments. He had been head of Department of Commerce for long times
and remained Controller, Examinations, Registrar and had been active in social
work too.
Prof.Baljinder thanked the management for re-posing faith in
him and said he would work with dedication and commitment. Those present at the
occasion included, Joint secretaries Ajmer Singh Heir, SS Mannan, KCA Principal
Dr.Daljit Singh, KCGC Deputy Director PR DS Rataul, teaching and non-teaching
staff of the College was present.
