Rotational irrigation programme from January 19 to 26

CHANDIGARH, JANUARY 18

The Irrigation Department, Punjab has announced the Rotational Program for irrigation for the Rabbi Season through Canal water from 19-1-2013 to 26-1-2013. The channels and branches off-taking from Ropar Head Works, the channels of Sirhind Canal System would run on the priority basis from, Abohar Branch, Patiala Feeder, Sidhwan Branch, Bathinda Branch and Bist Doab Canal, respectively.

            Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Irrigation Department said that direct distributaries of BML, Ghaggar link and its off-taking channels i.e. Ghaggar Branch and Patiala Minor of Group ‘B’, being in the first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilized in direct distributaries in Group ‘A'.

The spokesman further said that Punjab channels and Branches off-taking from Harike and Ferozpur Head Works, Abohar Branch off-taking from Sirhind Feeder and its distributaries, in Group ‘B’, being in the first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilized in direct Distributaries of Sirhind Feeder in Group ‘A’.

            The spokesman also said that the in the Upper Bari Doab Canal system, Main Branch Lower with its distributaries, being in the 1^st preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilized in Lahore Branch, Sabhroan Branch, Kasur Branch Lower with their distributaries, respectively.
