CHANDIGARH, SEPT 9
With a purpose to highlight the role parents, teachers and society at large in building a strong foundation for making a successful individual, PHD Chamber organized a seminar on “Building Strong Foundation – Role of Parents & Teachers” in association with Institute of Multiple Intelligence (IMI) here today at PHD House, Chandigarh.
Shri  Dharamvir, IAS, Former Chief Secretary, Govt of Haryana who was the Chief Guest on the occasion said that , “ parents should look beyond the traditional career options for their children like doctor, engineer, IAS etc and should motivate the child to opt for streams for which they have passion and interest for. Moreover parents should not burden their child with their own unrealised expectations and desires which most of the times they try to fulfil through their children”.
Addressing the audience, Shri Sethia, Former DPI Schools, Chandigarh said that Strong foundations are based on EQ and SQ. Now a days people are more focused on IQ, that is knowledge and information. However, Strong Foundations are built by habits, health, games, introspection and by setting up good examples.

The role of parents and teachers is to make the children responsible towards the society and their surroundings in their day to day life, added Sharma.
