Punjab PWD Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today said that 10 under construction
state-of-the-art Judicial Complexes would become fully operational by
September, 2013 with a combine cost of Rs.280 crore. He said that the
construction of these hi-tech complexes was on full swing at Kapurthala,
Pathankot, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Barnala, Sardulgarh, Tarn Taran, Zira, Malaut
and Batala.
Mr. Dhillon informed that the Punjab would
also witness five modern District Administrative Complexes at Tarn Taran,
Barnala, Ferozepur, Kapurthala and SAS Nagar (Mohali), which would be ready for
operation by March 2013 with a total cost of Rs.270 crore. He said that the
construction of 10 Tehsil Complexes at Kharar, Tapa, Chamkaur Sahib, Dhuri, Bholath,
Jagraon, Dera Baba Nanak, Moonak, Patran and Budhlada was almost completed,
which would be provided to various government offices for the smooth
functioning.
Reiterating the resolve of SAD-BJP Government to bring more improvement in the
basic infrastructure and road network, Mr. Dhillon said that a high-level
bridge worth Rs.60 crore between Ferozepur and Tarn Taran district over river
Satluj would be completed by December 2013. He said that the survey is being
conducted to identify the important routes along the canals and to widen the
road networks along canals.
Divulging the details regarding 4/6 lane projects in Punjab, Mr. Dhillon said
that out of total 1739 kilometer National Highways in Punjab, 405 kilometers
have been upgraded with the completion of 4/6 lane while the work of 4/6 lane
on 400 kilometers was under progress, which would be completed by March 2014.
