CHANDIGARH, SEPT 30
To streamline the work of fixing the security
registration number plates on the vehicles, the Punjab Government issued the revised
schedule for fixing the new number plates.
Giving the
information about the revised schedule a spokesman of Transport Department
Punjab said that security registration number plates were being fixed on the new
vehicles in the entire state at the time of registration but the work of
putting up of such plates on the old vehicles have been rescheduled.
He further
informed that according to the revised schedule security registration number
plates would be fixed on the registration number 0001 to 0500 in January 2013.
Likewise number plates would be fixed on 501 to 1000 in February 2013, on 1001
to 1500 in March 2013, on 1501 to 2000 in April 2013, on 2001 to 2500 in May
2013, on 2501 to 3000 in June 2013, on 3001 to 3500 in July 2013, on 3501 to
4000 in August 2013, on 4001 to 4500 in September 2013, on 4501 to 5000 in October
2013, on 5001 to 5500 on November 2013, on 5501 to 6000 in December 2013, on
6001 to 6500 in January 2014, on 6501 to 7000 in February 2014, on 7001 7500 in
March 2014, on 7501 to 8000 in April
2014, on 8001 to 8500 in May 2014, on 8501 to 9000 in June 2014, on 9001 to
9500 in July 2014 and on 9501 to 9999 August 2014.
He said
that under the central Motor vehicle Rules 1989, it was pertinent to have high
security number plates on the vehicles registered in Punjab.
The security registration number plates to be fixed on all the vehicles in two
years.
