Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today directed the Medical Education
& Research Department to immediately ensure the filling of vacant NRI Quota
MBBS and BDS seats in all the Medical and Dental Colleges in the state on the
basis of PMET merit under the guidelines issued by Medical Council of India
(MCI) and Dental Council of India (DCI) in a transparent manner.
Disclosing
this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that
presently there were 63 seats of MBBS and 175 seats of BDS lying vacant under
the NRI quota in various Medical and Dental Colleges in the state, where as
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot would conduct NRI quota
seats counseling for MBBS on 14th and for BDS on 15th
September. He also mentioned that only 14 application under NRI quota were
being received till date.
The
spokesperson said that in the view of these orders of Chief Minister, all seats
of NRI quota remained vacant after 15th must be filled as per the
PMET merit list under the guidelines issued by Medical Council of India (MCI)
and Dental Council of India (DCI).
