CHANDIGARH, SEPT 22
The
Punjab Government today announced prizes worth Rs.2.30 crore under the 38th
Lucky Coupon Scheme of Small Savings. During the draw ceremony total 7111
prizes were declared. Ludhiana
district’s coupon got first prize, which was Innova car. Cheques were also
given away to the winners of 37th Lucky Coupon Scheme.
The draw
ceremony of 38th Lucky Coupon Scheme from 1st April, 2011
to 31st March, 2012 was held under the supervision of Mr. Jaspal
Singh, Secretary Expenditure at Punjab Bhawan. In this draw, which was held in
the presence of government officials, judges, agents, media persons and general
public, the first prize of Innova car won by district Ludhiana coupon no. 02580371,
whereas second prizes of 10 Nano cars won by coupon no. 03145319 (district Bathinda),
02162628 (district Patiala), 03136618 (district Bathinda), 04254110 (district
Hoshiapur), 01598290 (district SBS Nagar or Nawan Shahr), 05065858 (district
Jalandhar), 03803189 (district Amritsar), 04656261 (district Amristar),
03492399 (district Patiala) and coupon no. 02092140 (district Patiala).
Similarly,
third prizes of 1000 Gold Guinea (4 gram), fourth prizes of 3,500 Soft Strolley,
fifth prizes of 600 Hand Blenders and sixth prizes of 2,000 Light weight Irons were
also declared.
Speaking
on the occasion, Mr. Jaspal Singh Said that small savings schemes have been
contributing in the development of the country and the state as well. He said
that the Punjab Government has amassed approximately Rs.9619 crore under
various small savings schemes till March 31, 2012. He said that during the
current year Rs.3117 crore has been collected till July, 2012 under various
small savings schemes, whereas Rs.2948 crore were collected in the previous
year till July 2011.
He also
gave away cheques to the winners of 37th Lucky Coupon Scheme. The winners, who
collected the cheques included; first prize winner of Tata Safari Mr. Sajjan
Singh of Village Chunni Kalan, district Fatehgarh Sahib, who has invested the
money in post office of district Ajitgarh (Mohali). He got cheque worth Rs.7,90,659,
while second prize winners of Tata Indigo Mr. Amarjit Singh and Mrs. Surjeet Kaur
collected the cheque worth Rs.4,61,927.
Prominent
amongst those, who were present on the occasion included; Mr. Dalip Kumar,
Director, Small Savings cum Secretary, Finance Department, Punjab,
Mr. Rajiv Sagar, Regional Director, National Savings.
