Dr Nayyar takes over as Director Health and Family Welfare

CHANDIGARH, OCT 2
        Dr Ashok Nayyar, M.S. here today assumed the charge of Director, Health and Family Welfare, Punjab. Dr Nayyar is a 1981 batch PCMS 1 officer and has served on many key posts till now. He has served on the post of Civil Surgeon of District Gurdaspur and Kapurthala as well
as Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital, Jalandhar. He also remained Additional Director, Health Services in the head office and served as acting Director Health Services, Punjab, Director Family Welfare, Punjab. Presently he was working on the post of Director Health Services (SI), Punjab in Parivar Kalyan Bhawan before taking over the new assignment on regular basis. He is also the Nodal Officer Punjab State for the prestigious International Road Safety (RS 10) Project, which is running across 10 nations including India. Listing out his priorities, Dr Ashok Nayyar stated that he would lay emphasis on the providing better health care services for the people, making government hospitals as ‘people friendly’ hospitals, smooth implementation of all the National Health Programmes, and curbing the menace of drug abuse and female foeticide.
