Netherlans to cooperate with Punjab for expansion of industry and trade

CHANDIGARH, OCT 4
  The Netherlands Government today announced to extend free Technical and Managerial expertise along with the consultancy service to India and particularly to the Punjab for the proliferation of industry and trade.
          The announcement was made by the senior experts of Pum-Netherlands during a meeting with Industries and Commerce Minister Mr. Anil Joshi here with a view to expand industry and trade in the state with the bilateral cooperation in this field. 
          Sharing the vast experience of the organisation with the Industry Minister, Country Coordinator Mr. John De Bruijn said that presently the Pum was extending free cooperation to 67 developing countries including India in the field of Technology, Quality and Management. He said that the sole aim of the organisation was to make industries and trade more beneficial by improving technology, quality and managements. He also said that all the expenditures of sending experts bear by the Netherlands Government.
          Mr. Bruijn informed the Minister that as PUM was already cooperating Punjab in various industrial sectors but now the Netherlands Government seeks to further strengthen the industrial and commerce ties with Punjab.

          The Industry Minister apprised Mr. Bruijn that Punjab Government has set-up world class infrastructure to fetch big investments in the state besides fixing a target of Rs. 1 Lakh Crore investment. He said that for achieving this huge target the state has been fully connected with 4/6 lane road networks and the Punjab was the first state in the country having 5 airports. He said that Punjab would also become a power surplus state with a generation capacity of 3920 MW as by the end of next year maximum units of four under construction thermal plants would become fully operational.
          Mr. Joshi also assured the delegation of PUM-Netherlands that Punjab Government would extend full cooperation to the organisation in all spheres. Mr. K.R. Jain, Representative of PUM-Netherlands in Punjab, Director Commerce Department Mr. Vikas Partap and Mr. Dinesh Lakra, Chairman Small Scale Industries was also present.
