100% admissions in Govt ITIS: Joshi

Punjab Industrial Training and Technical Education Minister Mr. Anil Joshi today said that the Punjab Government has achieved major mile stone by filling 100 per cent seats in all the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state, which would boost the professional entrepreneurship in specified fields of industry.
Mr. Joshi said that in the current academic session all the available 16,684 seats in 111 government ITIs of the state have been filled, whereas 80 per cent seats in 294 ITIs in the private sector have been filled as yet. He said that efforts of the SAD-BJP government to attract new talent in industrial and technical training has been bearing fruit as more and more students are getting attracted towards technical education. He further said that the Technical Education Department is making efforts for the placement of more and more students in the industries; to achieve this aim the department is organizing job fairs.
Mr. Joshi said that with the efforts of the government 799 students belonging to Patiala, Rajpura and Batala ITIs have succeeded in getting jobs in leading auto companies like; Maruti and Tata Motors.
