Badal is chief patron of World Cup Kabaddi Organizing Committee

CHANDIGARH, JULY 17

The Punjab Government has constituted an organizing committee for 3^rd World Cup Kabaddi Punjab-2012 being hosted from December 1 to 15.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesman said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has been made the chief patron, while  Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal would be the chairman of the organizing committee. Besides this, Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder would be the Senior Vice Chairman and Education Minister Mr. S.S. Maluka, Revenue, Rehabilitation, Information & Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia , Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sports & Youth Services and MLA Mr. Pargat Singh have been made Vice Chairmen. 

The spokesman informed that Punjab Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce, Principal Secretary Finance, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Secretary Information & Public Relations, Secretary Excise & Taxation, Secretary Sports & Youth Services, MD, PIDB, Director General of Police, Punjab, Special Principal Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister and concerned Deputy Commissioners have been made the members of the organizing committee. Director Sports, Punjab would be the organizing Secretary.

The spokesman added that the executive committee would comprise Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs, Principal Secretary Finance, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Secretary Information & Public Relations, Secretary Sports & Youth Services, DGP, Punjab, Director Cultural Affairs, Additional Secretary Sports & Youth Services and Director Sports.

Besides this, Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs has been made Chairman Cultural Programme Committee (Opening & Closing Ceremonies) and Secretary Sports & Youth Services, Director Cultiral Affairs and Director Sports would be the members of the committee. Secretary Sports & Youth Services has been named Chairman of Ceremony & Entertainment Committee , while Director Information & Public Relations, additional Secretary Sports & Youth Services, Director Sports, concerned Deputy Commissioners and concerned Commissioners/ SSsP would be the members. 

Principal Secretary Finance would be the chairman of Finance & Marketing Committee, while Secretary Sports & Youth Services and additional Secretary Sports & Youth Services would be members and Director Sports would be the Convener. Secretary Information & Public Relations would head the Media Committee and Director and additional Director Information & Public Relations would be the convener and member respectively. Director General of Police, Punjab would be the Chairman of Security Arrangement Committee and ADGP/Intelligence and Security and concerned Police Commissioner/SSPs would be convener and member respectively.

The spokesman revealed that Dr. Manmohan Singh would head the Medical Committee, while Dr. Manish has been made Director/ Convener of the committee. MLA Mr. Pargat Singh would head the Technical Committee, while Mr. K Jagdishwar Yadav, Secretary General, Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, Principal Sarwan Singh, Mr. Shivdev Singh, SP & Secretary Sports, PAP, Jalandhar, Mr. G.S.Malhi, Hony. Secretary, Punjab Kabaddi Association and Mr. Balwinder Singh Fidda, SP/PAP, Jalandhar have been included as members and Mr. S.L.Lotey, Deputy Director Sports would be the convener of the committee. State Transport Commissioner would be the chairman of Transport Committee while MD, PRTC has been made the convener. Besides this, concerned Deputy Commissioner would be the chairman of venue committee, while concerned Commissioner/ SSP, concerned additional Deputy Commissioner and concerned DPRO would be the members and concerned DSO would be the convener of Venue Committee, the spokesman added.
