Badal mourns tragic death of school children in school bus-train collision

CHANDIGARH JULY 30
            The Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic School Bus-Train collision near Baba Bakala in district Amritsar, which claimed four lives of school girls this morning.
            Meanwhile, the Chief Minister asked the Civil and Police administration of Amritsar district to extent all possible help to the bereaved families of the deceased in this hour of crisis.  He also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar to ask the Civil Surgeon to provide the best medical treatment free of cost to the injured.  
Mr. Badal also announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs.1 lakh each to the family member of the deceased. It may be recalled that the four school girls students of Sant Majja Singh School, Baba Bakala died as the school bus carrying 23 students collided with the train near Kot Mehtab.
            The Chief Minister also expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed souls and strength to bear this irreparable loss.  He also wished speedy recovery for the injured.
