Minister Punjab Mr. Anil Joshi today advised all industrial consumers to
deposit outstanding water and sewerage bills with in a month and after that the
government would be forced to levy surcharge & penalty on the bills.
Disclosing this here today an official
spokesman of Punjab Government said that Industry Minister earlier waived off
surcharge and penalty imposed on outstanding bills till March 31, 2012 but many
industrialist despite the gesture of waiver of surcharge failed to deposit the
bill by due date. He said that now after holding meeting with the
industrialists Minister has issued recent orders to deposit outstanding bills
with in a month w.e.f. July 19, 2012. He said that Minister has waived off
surcharge and penalty on all the outstanding bills to be deposited in one go
but now erring industrial consumers would not be shown any leniency.
