LUDHIANA, NOV 1
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today
said that Congress led UPA Government was out to crush Aam-Aadmi with all
anti-people decisions like raising the price of diesel, daily hike in the price
of petrol and LPG, limiting the supply of cooking gas cylinders to six besides
handing over the retail sector to Multi National Companies.
Speaking
to media persons at Sutton House here today Mr. Badal, who was accompanied by
Revenue Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia and PWD Minister Mr. Sharanjit Singh
Dhillon, said that all decisions of Congress led UPA Government were focused on
filling the coffers of MNCs. He said that with oil companies declaring 1 lakh
crore reserves, there was no rationale of giving them freedom to raise the price
of oil products virtually everyday.
He said that even today the Government has
raised the price of non-subsidised LPG cylinder by 26.50 paise, two days before
they had raised the price of petrol and diesel. He said that virtual daily
increase of petrol, diesel and LPG was like putting Aam-Aadmi on the drip of
slow poison.
Mr. Badal said that it was shameful that Congress has brought back
the culture of ration card and people are forced to line up in queues for hours
to get a supply of single LPG cylinder. He said that Congress itself by taking
such decisions was writing its own obituary note and said that President of
India must intervene to stop minority government to take anti-people decisions.
When
asked about claim of Punjab on Chandigarh, Mr. Badal said that as per
international law, all constitutional conventions and past practices parent
state on division has first right on the Capital and Punjab has sole right on
Chandigarh. He accused Congress for playing politics to keep this territorial
issue alive. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal would continue to struggle till
Chandigarh was transferred to Punjab and Punjab was restored its water rights.
Mr.
Badal said that SAD-BJP Government has prepared a detailed blueprint for
changing the face of 142 cities and 12775 villages of Punjab. He said that
detailed plan was being given final touches after through brainstorming with
experts and hopefully by 1st January 2013, Punjab would usher Rs.
14000 crore urban initiatives and Rs. 13000 crore rural initiatives for
integrated development of total Punjab.
When
asked about the future of Congress in Punjab, Mr. Badal said that Congress like
its proxy party PPP has diminished from the electoral scene of Punjab with
every important leader with some base, deserting their sinking ship. He said
that let Captain Amarinder has made himself a laughing stock by admitting two
years before Lok Sabha elections that Congress is set to lose 11 out of 13
seats in Parliamentary.
Rubbishing
the prediction of Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Bhattal regarding mid term poll in Punjab,
Mr. Badal said that her statement was like 'Mungeri Lal ke haseen sapney'. He
said that at least I can assure Mrs. Bhattal that Congress Party would not
return to power in Punjab for during her lifetime as people of Punjab have now
adopted the development agenda of SAD-BJP Government.
On the
question of Paddy procurement, Mr. Badal said that Punjab has already set aside
Rs. 20,000 crore to assure payment to farmers within 48 hours and said that
Chief Minister and his Principal Secretary were personally monitoring
procurement operations on hourly basis.
Prominent
amongst those were present on the occasion, Ludhiana Mayor Mr. Harcharan Singh
Gohalwaria, Mr. Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Advisor to CM, Punjab, Mr. Hira Singh
Gabria, former Minister.
