589 absentee teachers dismissed: Maluka

           The Punjab Government has dismissed 589 teachers/employees in the Education Department for being absent from duties during the last so many years. Earlier 212 teaching and non teaching staff had already been sacked and now 377 more teaching and non teaching staff has been dismissed.
          Disclosing this here today Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Education Minister Punjab said that 172 Master cadre, 60 Lecturer cadre, 98 ETT cadre, 02 Sarv Siksha Abhiyan teachers, 09 Computer teachers and 15 non-teaching employees have been dismissed. The Minister further said that the Director General Education School was asked to prepare a master plan to deal with the absentee staff and teachers accordingly a special cell was established in the office of DGSE to process inquired into the complaints against the teachers/employees. He said that sixteen hundred complaints has been received so far which would be securitized and dealt with for strict action.
             The Minister said that strict action would be taken against the teachers/employees who fail to resume their duties. That before sanctioning the ex-India leave and affidavit from the applicant would be taken to the effect that the services would be dismissed in case they fail to resume their duty well in time. No laxity will be tolerated in this regard strict and firm action will be taken against the employees who remain absent. To provide quality and standard education the government will not leave any stone unturned.
