Ranike sworn in as Cabinet Minister

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 7
The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil, today administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike as Cabinet Minister of the state in a brief but impressive ceremony here at Punjab Raj Bhawan in the presence of Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that with this the total strength of the Cabinet had increased to 16 including CM and Deputy CM.
Earlier, the Chief Secretary Mr. Rakesh Singh conducted the proceedings of the ceremony with the permission of the Governor. After being sworn in Mr. Ranike signed the oath, which was counter signed by the Governor.
The prominent dignitaries who attended swearing in ceremony included Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mr. Charanjeet Singh Atwal, Mr. Adesh Partpa Singh Kairon, Mr. Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Mr. Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Mr. Ajit Singh Kohar, Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Mr. Sharanjeet Singh Dhillon, Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal, Mr. Surjeet Singh Rakhra (All Cabinet Ministers), Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Som Parkash, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. SK Sandhu, Special Principal Secretaries to the Chief Minister Mr. KJS Cheema and Mr. Gaggandip Singh Brar, DGP Mr. Sumedh Saini besides the top brass of the state administration and Police and members of the journalist fraternity besides, the family members, friends and supporters of Mr. Ranike.
