Officers told to travel by Air India

The Punjab Government has issued directions to all officers to travel by Air India while on Official tours and also while availing Leave Travel Concession (LTC).
            In the directions issued by Finance Department, it has been stressed that Air India has announced an exclusive travel policy for Government Officers and all Officers should avail that policy while undertaking any journey by air.  It was emphasized that if the travel schedule of Air India was not suitable as per the travel requirements of the officer of cost of travel by Air India was more expensive than private airlines; the Officer can fly by private airline giving a self-certification in this regard. This self-certification must be brought to the notice of Head of Department.
            This communique had been conveyed to all Head of Departments, Commissioners of the Divisions, all Deputy Commissioners and Sub Divisional Officers (Civil) for information and necessary action. These directions have also been conveyed to Registrar of All Universities in the State and Directorate of Public Enterprises and Disinvestment for implementation in various State Boards and Corporations.
