Carmel Convent-9 beat Sacred Heart-26 on penalties

CHANDIGARH, OCT 26
Carmel Convent of Sector 9 defeated Sacred Heart, Sector 26 by 3-1 on penalties in the girls under-19 football final in the Chandigarh Inter-School Games being conducted by the Chandigarh Education Department here today.
In the football final played at the Government Model Senior Secondary School ground in Sector 22 A, Carmel Convent and Sacred Heart were locked goalless in the regulation period. In the tie-breaker session, Neeti, Manyaseti and Shruti were the winners’ scorers. Arshot reduced the margin for Sacred Heart by converting  her spot kick.
Ryan International School, Sector 49 scored one goal in each half to beat Mount Carmel, Sector 47 by 2-0. Purva opened the Ryan account in the sixth minute and Shivani clinched the second goal for the winners in the 39th minute. With this win, Ryan International finished third and Carmel Convent fourth.
In the boys Under-17 basketball match, New Public School, Sector 18 outplayed Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36 by 38-13 points.

Girls Under-14: GNPS-36 bt Carmel Convent-9 by 18-8, St. Xaviers-44 bt  St. Anne’s-32 by 25-8,
Match-3 –GGMSSS-20 Vs St. Joseph-44 bt GGMSSS-20 by 35-15, Saupins-32 bt Mount Carmel -47 by 12-0.
