Joshi's visit to Chinese industrial fair evekes positive responsive

Mr. Anil Joshi, Industries and Commerce minister, Punjab visited the 112th Canton fair at Guangzhou, China today. The majority of the companies participating in the fair from India represent Punjab. There are 24415 corporate exhibitors showcasing their products in hardware tools, chemicals, electrical gadgets, automobiles, and infrastructure and lighting solutions.
Disclosing this here today the spokesman of the Punjab government said that the visit of the Punjab delegation of industry stalwarts Would help them know more about the latest products and service in the industry and will bring together industry professionals and business experts at one place to discuss numerous trade related issues including business policies, future plans, future market conditions and their respective marketing strategies. More than 2 lac foreign participants are likely to visit this fair. The Chinese experts discussed with Mr. Joshi the prospects of more imports from India and cited that Government policies of both countries are quite different and that Chinese Government is spending a huge part of their GDP for the development of infrastructure with lesser bureaucratic interference, which the Government of India lacks. The Chinese businessmen discussed with the Minister that his visit as leader of the delegation would pave way for close business ties with industrialists of Punjab and would provide an opportunity to discuss China and Punjab growth successes for a high quality sustained and inclusive growth of the industrial scene in this border state.
He said that the participants also discussed that Chinese technology is only one dimension of international competitiveness and that low labour cost in their country was one more. Discussing the issue further, the entrepreneurs said that these are effective only if the system as a whole meets best in class standards and it always does not have to be state of the art but that it should be targeted to the state of market conditions.. The delegation was impressed by the natural networking as the best Chinese people's skill. The delegation of Industrialists from Punjab which is accompanying the Minister were exposed to advance technology, procedures and systems  which would help them in upgrading their own industrial units. Earlier Mr. joshi was accorded very warm welcome by FIEO (Federation of Indian Exporters Organization) which have organized India`s participation in this world Fair. Mr Vikas Pratap, Director and Secretary Industries and Commerce Punjab who is also accompanying the minister outlined measures taken by the Govt. of Punjab to facilitate trade from Punjab.
