MOHALI, OCT 25
Eco-Friendly Computer lab based on n-computing was inaugurated in Aryans College of Engineering,Thuha(Banur), Chandigarh-Patiala Highway, Near Chandigarh. The formal inauguration was done by Mrs. Rajni Kataria, Treasurer, Aryans Group of Colleges today. This new technology computer lab has around 50 latest technology Eco-Friendly PC systems.
After inauguration, while addressing students, staff and management, Mrs. Rajni Kataria said that for the betterment of students and to raise the level of education, Aryans Group is installing n-computing lab which enables multiple users to simultaneously share a single operating system instance.
It is to be mentioned that currently, PC’s consume too much electricity and generate too much e-waste which is becoming the fastest growing part of the waste stream. So being Eco Friendly solution to this problem, ncomputing technique was introduced to avoid these waste.
Ncomputing is having an extremely positive impact on the environment. It consumes 90% less energy per user. If you replace seventy PCs with ten PCs attached to sixty NComputing X-series access devices, you would save over 10,000 kilowatthours (kWh), which translates to over 1 metric ton of CO2 emissions per year. It helps in saving money as well as time.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group said that technology is changing rapidly so one has to update himselfregularly. At the same time, students and staff should be trained for adoption of the new technology otherwise they will be left behind.
Prof. D. C. Kataria, Vice Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges; Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group; Mr. B.S. Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group; Mr. A.P. Jain, Director, Aryans Group; Miss Varinder Kaur, Coordinator, Aryans Group etc. were also present on the occasion.
