Sukhdev Kang creataed with full state honour

CHANDIGARH, OCT 12
Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kang, former Governor of Kerala and former Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir High Court, who was died early today was cremated at Chandigarh with full state honour. His son Mr. N.S. Kang, Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Punjab lit the pyre and performed his last rites.
Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue and Public Relations Minister, Punjab paid homage to the departed soul and laid wreath. Mr. Daljeet Singh Cheema, MLA, Roopnagar laid wreath on behalf of Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, whereas Mr. Pargat Singh, MLA, Jalandhar laid wreath on behalf of Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab. Mr. D.S. Bains, Principal Secretary, Home, Mr. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Local Bodies, Mr. M.P. Singh, Secretary to Governor, Punjab paid tributes on behalf of Chief Secretary, Punjab, Kerala Government and Governor of Punjab, respectively. Contingent of Punjab police saluted the departed soul by firing rounds in the air.
Prominent amongst other, who were present at the cremation included; Mr. B.S. Sudan, Secretary, Home, Mr. Anirudh Tiwari, Secretary, Personnel and Power, Mr. Roshan Sunkaria, Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Mr. V.K. Sharma and Mr. Neelkanth Avadh (all IAS), Mr. Gagandeep Singh Brar, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Punjab, Mr. D.S. Mangat, Director, Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab and Mr. Gurwaryam Singh, Additional Director, Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab.
Several High Court judges and members of High Court Bar Council were also present at the cremation.
