INDIANAPOLIS, OCT 29
On Tuesday Governor Mitch Daniels and Lt. Governor Becky Skillman joined state cabinet members as celebrity ice cream scoopers for the first State Employee Community Campaign (SECC) Ice Cream Social. This is the first multi-agency SECC event to be led by Governor Daniels, Lt. Governor Skillman and the cabinet members.
From 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the Indiana Government Center South atrium, ice cream sundaes were available for a $5 donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Indiana Trails Fund. This fund, an organization committed to creating outdoor trails and greenways throughout the state, was chosen by the Governor and is just one of many charities that benefits from SECC.
“Governor Daniels and Lt. Governor Skillman continue to lead all of us in inspiring ways. What a great demonstration of their commitment to improving their community through the SECC,” said Lori Torres, Department of Labor Commissioner and 2013 SECC Chairwoman. “I am fortunate to have been part of the organizing committee for this event.”
Products for the SECC Ice Cream Social have been donated by Indiana-based sponsors Smith’s Dairy, Kelsay Farms, McFarling Foods and the American Dairy Council of Indiana.
