Denmark men and women to compete in World Cup Kabaddi

 
Demark proposes for formation of European Kabaddi Federation and will bid to host World Cup Kabaddi in near future

CHANDIGARH, OCT 27 
Denmark are scheduled to participate in in the third edition of the Kabaddi World Cup to be hosted by Punjab (India) from 1st until 15th December 1 to 15. In a communication received here today, Kabaddi Federation of Demark president Allan Bo Jakobsen  said that Denmark would compete in the men’s as well as women’s categories.
 The Denmark players are being trained in Copenhagen  under various conditions and they belong to various sporting background such as athletics, martial arts and wrestling.
Doping being one of the major concerns in kabaddi, Denmark promises to showcase talent with zero percent doping at upcoming World Cup.
Copenhagen –based Prabhjit Singh is  putting his best knowledge and skills to impart coaching to the players. “It was a big surprise for me to note this sport being introduced here and I am glad to note affiliation extended by National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark to Kabaddi,” said Prabhjit Singh.
 The training is carried over four days a week and various visuals from YouTube are also used to explain better.
Allan Bo Jakobsen , also aims to host World Cup Kabaddi in near future and hopes to get financial support from National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark for development and promotion of this sport in Denmark. “I was glad to note vision of H.E. Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal , Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab for development of this sport and under his vision and extensive cooperation of Puneet Singh Chandhok , an international promoter of this sport , we were able to take this goal forward,” he said.
During his visit later this year to Punjab, Allan Bo Jakobsen will be holding talks with all participating countries to form an international road-map for development of kabaddi.
Allan Bo Jakobsen is a prominent sports and social worker in Denmark. He has been awarded highest Danish Sport honors and is also a member of FILA Hall of Fame for leaders, which is the highest honor in international wrestling. It was his ambition to introduce kabaddi in Denmark and after having study of this sport at 1st Asian Men’s Kabaddi Championship at Tabriz, Iran last year, he started building the foundation for Kabaddi in Denmark.
It’s interesting to note, Kabaddi Federation of Denmark formed early this year is managed and supervised by non-Punjabi origin. Saied Tayebi, a sports enthusiast and journalist based in Demark assists the federation and is the Vice President of Federation. The federation has been trying to establish contact with various multinationals based in Demark, for supporting its development and has also sent a request to Aditya Birla Group in this regard.
