Government to resolve court cases through Lok Adalats

CHANDIGARH, OCT 19
            The Punjab Government has become leading State of the Country by adopting a policy of amicable settlement of court cases through Lok Adalats. Written instructions in this regard have been sent to all the departments, whereby they have been instructed to prepare the details of all such cases which are pending in the courts. They have been instructed to approach the registrar, Punjab and Haryana High Court in this regard.
            Disclosing this here an official spokesman of the department of co-ordination said that the Punjab government has already framed a litigation policy. He said that the aim of this policy is to transform government into efficient and responsible litigant and also to reduce government litigation in the courts. He said that to reduce the pending cases of different departments in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, details of such cases would be prepared by the departments. He said that where conciliation is possible the registrar Punjab and Haryana High court would be approached and cases would be solved amicably through Lok Adalats. He said that Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court has assured full cooperation to resolve these matters through Lok Adalats.
